Our Story
Our story began as a book club during the COVID-19 pandemic. At a time when the community was facing uncertainty, businesses were struggling, and the overall atmosphere in society was filled with anxiety, our founding members decided that rather than simply waiting for the pandemic to pass, we could do something positive together.
We began meeting every week to share what we had recently read, exchange ideas and encourage one another. Through these regular gatherings, we discovered that knowledge, meaningful conversations and mutual support could bring positive energy to ourselves and the people around us.
Over time, we wanted to share this culture with a wider community. We recognised that Rotary could provide a platform for us to contribute our knowledge, professional experience and personal strengths, allowing us to turn what we had learned into meaningful service.
We believe that reading and personal development help us become more thoughtful, capable and compassionate individuals. As we continue to improve ourselves, we are better equipped to serve others. By sharing what we learn and applying our knowledge through service, we hope to create a positive cycle of learning, growth and community impact.
Personal development, reading and knowledge sharing remain at the heart of our club. As Discoverians, we continue to learn together, share with one another and serve our community with purpose.
